Some of the newer cam-lock buckles are much wider that the original 1" width. As a result, the standard 1" width straps look somewhat loose or sloppy in the wider buckle. The thickness, and width are critical on these combinations and in order to producing a custom looking quality piece, we must have the buckle in hand. We keep a log of the specifications for each of your compression buckles in our database thus enabling us to manufacture straps for you in the future. Since pass through or cam lock buckles are extremely harsh on the belt and lining, we recommend that you choose the harder smoother classic finish or the polished safari alligator cover and a standard lining. Because these pass through buckles tend to cut the stitching, the edges on our straps are not stitched. We use a different gluing process on the straps and to date have never had a cover separate from the lining. This combination of a stiffer lining and no stitching will extend the life of these straps. Your special order strap will be shipped without a buckle.
